The project presented issues that had to be addressed, firstly, the integration of an existing ASP driven website that the client did not control. This was resolved by creating a linkage script that allowed the sessions to be accessed throughout the new site’s framework. Secondly, the site utilised a frameset, which allows the imported data to reside within the new corporate theme. This presented its own problem with the use of drop down lists. Traditionally, DDL’s cannot overlay across different frames as in effect, each frame is a separate webpage. The resolution, was creating a dynamic overlay which created the desired effect.
Once all issues had been resolved, the final framework was finalised and the CMS integration was undertaken.
The CMS in this instance required a new module to be created, which allows the admin user to manage the “Specials” section of the website. Once all the data has been entered into the design editor, the specials link to the correct Database record within the third party application. This system was designed to be as user friendly and WYSIWYG in concept
